Vessels | Flowers | Toilets
A Solo Exhibition by Lauren Lavitt (May 4th, - June 1st, 2025)
Opening reception May 4th, 2025, 3-5pm, at Alto Beta Gallery, 2359 Lincoln Ave, Altadena, CA 91101

Vessels, Flowers, and Toilets is a mixed media exhibition featuring twenty-five pieces, including ceramic sculptures, works on paper, and two video installations. With a playful yet incisive approach, Lauren Lavitt blends surreal imagery, tactile materials, and personal symbolism to explore cycles of life, decay, and renewal.

Drawing from early experiences in her family’s flower shop and the ongoing intimacy of motherhood Lavitt uses raw materials as starting points for artistic reflection. Flowers become a recurring motif, representing ritual, memory, and emotional expression -objects we turn to in moments of love, grief, celebration, and care.
