Casa del Mutilato of Genoa – Fondazione A.N.M.I.G., in collaboration with Collezione Santagata and under the patronage of the Office for Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage – Archdiocese of Genoa, presents “Proofs of Faith. Antonio Giuseppe Santagata.”
A carefully curated selection of works (almost all previously unpublished) offers an in-depth look at the most spiritual production of a great Genoese artist, whose name remains inseparably linked to bearing witness to and transmitting the horrors of war. The sense of suspension that characterizes his more psychological depictions of conflict reappears in works produced later in life, surprising for their expression of a deeply personal dimension of Faith, untethered to any definable time or space.
