Casa del Mutilato in Genoa celebrates the completion of the reinstallation of its permanent collection and the renovation of its historic façade with the sensitive exhibition Come in terra così in cielo (“On Earth as it is in Heaven”). This occasion also offers the opportunity to admire in its entirety the fine series of paintings and sculptures that the building, designed by Eugenio Fuselli, has housed since its opening in the first half of the twentieth century.
Come in terra così in cielo, curated by Matteo Lenuzza, seeks to bring together some of the most tangible works by two Genoese masters, Attilio Mangini and Aurelio Caminati, in a dimension that lingers between earthly life, explored by the former, and the afterlife, investigated by the latter. Mangini’s partisans appear suspended in uncertainty about their future, while the souls freely and lightly portrayed by Caminati seem to merge with the whirls of an afterlife...More
