Casa del Mutilato in Genoa, through its Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art, holds both the possibility and the duty to sustain an ongoing collective reflection on the values that have shaped (and still guide) its history as an institution in support and protection of the community: peace, rights, and inclusion. Within a shaken and disrupted historical horizon—one that defines the everyday reality of recent years—it becomes all the more necessary to keep attention fixed both on the unfolding of events that have undermined these values and on the individual responsibility to ensure that freedom is not only preserved but also sought wherever it still (tragically) fails to fully shine.
