On the occasion of the eightieth anniversary of the Liberation, Casa del Mutilato di Genova joins the celebrations of the regional capital—awarded the Gold Medal for Resistance—through its new cultural production “Vittorio Lavezzari. Even History Can Die.”
The exhibition, open from April 18 to May 16, 2025, supported by the institution’s President (Guido Vinacci) and curated by the Museum’s Cultural Director (Matteo Lenuzza), serves as a public and physical restitution of a portion of the city’s memory suppressed by the regime.
The building will host the original model of the 1924 sculpture “Voltri ai suoi caduti” (“Voltri to Its Fallen”), created by the artist Vittorio Lavezzari as a study for the monument of the same name, which once stood in Piazza Gaggero in western Genoa, in front of the local municipal building.
