Am at this show today it is great everything made out of apples. Next year you and Grandma and Leonard will get to see the show. It was just fine. I wish you could of seen it. They say there were 5 thousand people there Saturday night. Love and kisses to you from your Mother.
This piece is built from apples as well. Apples and many other crops. Its final form is what papermakers commonly refer to as papyrus. Papyrus is a paper-like material which is made by layering and pressing organic matter together until it fuses in partnership. It is bound by sharing its sugars and natural moisture.
Rather than a substrate for ink, this papyrus serves as its own inscription. A medley of attened rounds rendered into lines and silhouettes. It’s a work of overlapping circles and stolen shapes from a Long Island antique store – a drawing, a memory spell, a bear covered in apples.
