In his new body of work, Masaya Chiba is focused on the nature of objects that “fall silent the moment we try to make them speak”. Even though objects certainly and forcefully address us, when we turn around and attempt to respond to their conversation, they quickly recede and become silent again. We are surrounded by countless such things. Their multitude is not something to be quantified in powers of ten, but simply acknowledged as “many”.
