Phung-Tien Phan (b. 1983) lives and works in Essen. She helds a BA in photography from the Folkwang University Of Arts. Additionally she studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf for 2.5 years. Phung-Tien Phan works primarily in the media of sculpture and film; the work calling upon the (psychic) material of her everyday experience. Overtly casual, her practice is nonetheless assertive, supportive of the value of humor, criticality and experimentation. Phan’s work has been included in institutional exhibitions including Rushes, Fluentum, Berlin (2025), Follow the Feeling, Times Museum, Guangzhou (2024) and Kartoffel, Kunsthalle Basel (2023).
