Galerie Gisela Capitain is pleased to announce After Writing, a solo exhibition by Seth Price at Albertusstrasse. The show refers to his exhibition Before and After Writing at Zweigstelle Capitain V in Naples in 2023.
Two paintings expand on Price’s long-standing exploration of the relationship between materiality and immateriality within the space of painting. The works often begin spontaneously, with gestures made by hand or foot, before being integrated into a technical process that bridges the physical and digital realms. Through them, Price investigates a distinctly human way of experiencing the world, where tangible objects and materials intersect with intangible dimensions.
A series of framed works on paper presents unique prints created through a process involving liquid plastic painted onto sheets of Wild paper and reverse transfers of mylar prints derived from the artist’s own photographs, mostly shot on film.
