The exhibition brings together recent works by four artists living in Switzerland: Giovanna Belossi, Caterina De Nicola, Daniel Kurth and Alan Schmalz. The common ground between them is an interest in text and writing in the sense of language as material, writing as a starting point for materialisation, and writing and language as found objects that are decontextualised. It is also about reappropria-ting words, sentences and (written) images that have become commodities in the form of brands, slogans or sales pitches. Letters (and thus the world) can always be rearranged. New text or non-text emerges, or the text remains absent. The title quotes a visual poem by Claus Bremer from the 1960s that refers to empty spaces and the unspeakable, to the mediated and the immediate.
