Lodos is pleased to present Moving Images, a group exhibition featuring the work of Isaac De Reza, Adriana Lara, Ghislaine Leung, Michael Smith, Pilvi Takala, and Bedros Yeretzian.
Moving Images expands the notion of “video” by looking at what happens to the image once it comes unmoored—made mobile, disembodied, endlessly replicable. It also considers what this means inside today’s media landscape: an accelerating, ever-multiplying network of production and circulation, where billions of users push images into the world faster than they can be parsed. In today’s media ecology images circulate with unprecedented velocity, detached from stable contexts or physical supports. Mobilized through networks of reproduction, repetition, and circulation, these images appear to take on life of their own: not merely representations, but agents shaped by the systems that transmit them.
