Paloma Izquierdo (b. 1995, Havana, Cuba) is an artist whose work investigates what she refers to as ‘paranoid infrastructures’—instances where existing systems are manipulated for disobedient uses. By short-circuiting and distorting these structures, Izquierdo’s work mirrors dominant frameworks while camouflaging acts of resistance within them.
She received her MFA from Yale School of Art, New Haven, CT in 2023 and her BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, New York, NY in 2018. She currently teaches at Montclair State University.
Recent solo exhibitions include Murmurs, Los Angeles, CA (2025); HESSE FLATOW, New York, NY (2025–forthcoming). Recent group exhibitions include Speciwoman, New York, NY (2025); 92 Seattle, Boston, MA (2024); Swivel, Brooklyn, NY (2024); Helena Anrather, New York, NY (2024); HESSE FLATOW, Amagansett, NY (2023). Izquierdo has participated in residencies at Triangle Arts, Pioneer Works, Lighthouse Works, SOMA, Oolite...More
