PARCEL is pleased to present “TEXTURE PUNK”, a group exhibition by Chihiro Mori, COSMIC WONDER, ∈Y∋, Hajime Imamura, Teppei Kaneuji, Yuki Kimura, and Zon Ito.
In the early 2000s, a surge of energy in contemporary art emerged from Osaka that set it apart from the Tokyo scene. This Kansai-based movement fostered a unique dynamism where art, fashion, and music intersected in a state of constructive chaos, forming a fertile ground for new modes of expression.
This exhibition brings together artists who were deeply immersed in that movement, tracing the roots of its creative surge. Through works created primarily between the late 1990s and early 2000s, we explore how this movement continues to influence the present.
