Biography
Simone Nicola Filippo is a visual artist who graduated from HEAD Geneva (CH) in 2019 and ECAL Lausanne (CH) in 2021. His practice is primarily painting-oriented and often extends to installations with the collective General Æsthetics. Simone’s works explore loneliness, virtual relationships, and parasocial relationships. The aesthetics he adopts are intrinsic to cultural consumption and stay true to his roots in fan art. He has been awarded several artist residencies in Cairo (EG, 2021), Lausanne (CH, 2022), Mexico (MX, 2022), and Okazaki (JP, 2025). Simone’s works have been featured in solo exhibitions in Switzerland: Tour Bonheur (2025, Quartier Général, La-Chaux-de-Fonds), Hearts trained to failure (2025, Lokal-Int, Biel), Douce Death (2024, Espace Contact, Neuchâtel), and A little thin Duck (2024, CoinCoin Artspace, Zürich). His works have also been included in group exhibitions internationally.
