Biography
Anna Lena Keller’s artistic practice unfolds at the intersection of body, material, and technical form. She develops sculptural works that explore protective and supportive structures as well as extensions of both human and non-human bodies. Materials such as metal, paper, thermoplastic substances, and leather are examined through various production processes for their physical, form-defining, and metaphorical qualities. The resulting sculptural objects, wall pieces, and spatial installations possess a strong physical presence and address themes such as bodily boundaries, performance enhancement, and vulnerability.
Keller responds to the fragmented yet infinitely complex spaces of narration, association, and reality in which our media-saturated bodies roam — and with which they increasingly merge. Just as our environments are equipped with „senses“ through smart technologies, our bodies adapt and gradually dissolve the barriers that once separated them from the outside world. This…
