Biography
Iacopo Seri is a multidisciplinary artist, cultural producer, and educator whose practice resists clean categorisation by design. Working across performance, sound, writing, photography, and drawing, his work moves between registers — from the rigorously institutional to the quietly unofficial, from the internationally exhibited to the deeply local — without treating these as oppositions.
Central to his practice is the ordinary texture of daily life read as mythological material, and proto-historical structures brought to bear on the contemporary. Non-ordinary states, the deconstruction of rituality, and the forms of knowledge that resist documentation — these are not his subjects so much as his working conditions.
Based in Subbiano in the Arezzo province of Tuscany, Seri is rooted in a landscape whose civilisational depth — Etruscan, pre-linguistic, permanently present — informs the archaeology his practice performs. His career spans major international institutions while remaining…
