Biography
Ignazio Fabio Mazzola (b. 1980) lives and works in Bari, where he studied architecture. His artistic practice privileges the video medium, with which he examines the body and its existential condition through biographical and collective forms. Many of his films deal with experimental architectural projects in 20th-century Italy, focusing on the work of Alessandro Anselmi, Carlo Aymonino, Franco Purini & Laura Thermes, Ludovico Quaroni and Aldo Rossi. His works have been shown in exhibition spaces such as MACRO - Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Roma, Fondazione Pino Pascali, Kora - Contemporary Arts Center, Microba, Kunstschau, and in international festivals and screening programs, including Pesaro Film Festival, Milano Film Festival, Filmmaker Festival, Avvistamenti, Transient Visions: Festival of the Moving Image, Sincretica, Laterale Film Festival, Ibrida, Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux de Paris and Nomadica.
