Biography
Ingeborg Tysse's multimedia practice shapes as sculpture, installation, digital weaving, costume, and video. Tysse’s work engages with personal narratives, contemporary and historical myths, crafts and environmentalism, hovering between reality and fiction. Exploring the nuances rather than dualities, Tysse approaches her surroundings through an animistic perspective as a method of care and conservation. She combines manipulated found material, digital imagery, crafts and materials that mirror and form metaphorical narratives. Through activating the tension between the organic and the synthetic, the natural and the constructed, wild and tamed, the work reflect her interests in the subconscious and explore hierarchies in normative society and the undesirable on an individual and collective level.
