Biography
Jimmy Peggie is a Scottish–Estonian artist based in Phoenix, Arizona, whose multidisciplinary practice explores the relationships between sound, image, and environment. Working across sound art, photography, video, and installation, he focuses on themes of impermanence, decay, and transformation—using field recordings, electromagnetic sounds, and visual fragments to reflect on the transient nature of existence.
Described as “painting with sound,” he transforms ordinary or overlooked elements of the world into meditative, immersive experiences. His works often arise from environmental and urban recordings that he reshapes into textured, ambient compositions and visual studies.
