Description

Exordium is an abstract composition that emphasizes depth through

layered forms and interplay of color. At 48 by 72 inches, the work is

structured as a grid of smaller square panels, collectively forming a field

where color and line engage in continuous motion. The background’s

palette of light blue, dayglo yellow, and metallic green establishes a

foundation that contrasts with the gestural maroon brushstrokes.

The use of metallic and dayglo paints provides luminosity and iridescence.

The transparent overlaps create a spatial tension that aim to highlight the

relationships of form and color.

The title, Exordium, which means “beginning” or “introduction,” is an

opening statement in an ongoing investigation into abstract perspective

and surface complexity. The viewing experience is offered as a balance

between structure and freedom, inviting reflection on how form can evoke

rhythm and space without representational reference.
